Paintwork is a versatile application that offers a range of features for both handwriting notes and picture creation.

The handwriting note module allows users to write notes, keep diaries, jot down thoughts, practice calligraphy, and create personalized font text.

With the picture creation module, users can create images, draw, paint, sketch, and perform simple image modifications. It also serves as a useful tool for logo design, clothing design, hairstyle design, posters, graphic notes, hand-drawn art characters, and more.

The handwriting note module includes a wide range of functions such as a brush list with hundreds of brush effects, an eraser list where each brush effect can function as an eraser, vector graphics (including lines, lassos, text boxes, rectangles, ellipses, arrows, triangles, pentagons, polygons, arcs, etc.), and many related attribute settings. It also features a color list with various palettes and customizable manual configuration of commonly used colors. Additional functions include the ability to copy and cut specific areas on the page, import images, use a simple calculator and ruler, and export PDF files or images.

The picture creation module offers an extensive range of features including a brush list with customizable attributes such as thickness, color, transparency, dynamic intensity weighting. Like the handwriting module, it also has an eraser list where each brush effect can be utilized as an eraser. Other features include a willow leaf brush, a blur pen, a highlighter pen, the ability to fill shapes (with adjustable tolerance values and options for working on all layers), customized shape graphics (that can be designed by hand), custom curve functions (for freely designing curves and graphics), text pen (to draw text lines in any direction), polyline pen, dashed line pen (in any direction), and the ability to draw various geometric shapes. There is a rich selection of colors and customized color palettes available, along with a layer list that provides functions for adding, merging, deleting, copying, and locking transparent pixels. Additional layer-related features include filling layers, creating clip masks, fading, color inversion, effect adjustment, custom textures, custom gradients, changing background layers, vertical and horizontal flipping, layer adjustment transformation, distortion deformation, liquefaction, and 35 different blending modes. Users can also add text on the image with custom font styles, sizes, colors, shadows, and other text effects. The module allows for importing image materials, cropping and cutting images, creating puzzles by inserting images into the canvas for texture and puzzle making. Users can also utilize colorful brushes for graffiti.

Other notable features of Paintwork include a ruler, color balance, tone saturation, color blending curve, effect adjustment tools such as blur options (simple blur, Gaussian blur, dynamic blur, radial blur), contour line extraction, line strokes, particle noise, sharpening, mosaic effects, deformation options (like luminescence and sketching line draft), brightness ratio adjustment, RGB adjustment, contrast adjustment, exposure adjustment, saturation adjustment, gamma adjustment.

The application also offers a symmetry tool that allows for left-right symmetry and top-bottom symmetry. Additional features include gradient fill options, reference image support, a magic wand lasso selection tool, a pen tool for more precise drawing or editing tasks, twist deformation and liquefaction deformation tools for advanced transformations. Paintwork also includes grid reference lines for precise alignment and fill settings for customization. Users can crop image layers and adjust canvas page sizes as needed. Other features include a color picker tool and support for functions like copying/cutting images to specific areas and generating long images or PDF files from multiple screenshots. The application also provides capabilities such as picking and rotating image colors, flipping horizontally and vertically, zooming in and out, cropping, mosaic function for creating mosaics, freely filling colors, and a wide range of decorative patterns like stars, bubbles, love, snowflakes, gradient brushes, and more.

Paintwork supports the use of the Apple pencil and offers the ability to export files in different formats including jpg, png, pdf, and psd.
